Former Nimba County District number 7 Representative Atty. Worlea Dunah has described the recent primary held by the four collaborating political parties as a mere “witch-hunt “and “total disgrace” to the CPP.

Making the disclosure recently on Radio Nimba when he appeared as a guest on the program “Everyday Talk” Atty. Dunah explained that it was totally unacceptable on the part of major political opposition institutions in the country.

Dunah who served as representative for Nimba Districts number 3 & 7 during the 52nd and 53rd legislature respectively and an Executive member of the former ruling Unity Party, explained that the manner in which the primary was held is a fraud.

Speaking further, Dunah lambasted at his party decision to join ranks with parties he claimed have no or little political influence in the country.

“The Unity Party as a major political party that led the country for the past 12 years made a total political blunder and error to have aligned with a party like the All Liberian Party (ALP) that got a total vote of 24,000 in the entire country during the 2017 general and presidential elections.”

Dunah claimed that one of the factors that led to the way the primary was held is that ALP changed its entire delegates overnight in Ganta, something he said a serious minded political party will never do.

The former Nimba Districts number 3 & 7 lawmaker revealed that ALP as a political party will not feature any presidential candidate during the 2023 general and presidential elections according to the Election Laws of Liberia because the party got less than 2% of the total vote across the country in the 2017 election.

He asserted that the Unity Party as a major party that came second during the 2017 elections, should not have been so quick to align with other parties, but rather try to rebrand itself and later look for collaboration in 2021 around electioneering period than what happened.

The veteran lawmaker mentioned that his party has made a great political mistake that will continue to hunt them for some time until they can correct it.

He mentioned that the only way the mistakes will be corrected is when a new breed of leadership can take over the party.

Dunah alluded to the Sanniquellie CPP primary to some of the mistakes made by UP to align with parties that don’t have more membership in the county.

“That primary was nothing but a total fraud and a witch hunt that was carried out.”

Commenting further on the Collaborating Political Parties activities in Nimba, Former lawmaker Worlea Dunah categorized it as a ‘disaster’ that has brought split in the CPP in Nimba County.

He claimed that there is nothing in Nimba called CPP, but rather Alternative National Congress (ANC) candidate, the Liberty Party (LP) candidate as Unity Party (UP) does not have a candidate in the county for the upcoming December 8, 2020, senatorial election.
