VP Taylor remains tight-lip on support to CDC Candidate in Bong

Things are said to be ‘falling apart’ in the Coalition for Democratic Change, as VP Taylor cannot clearly state whom she supporting for pending December 8, 2020, Senatorial election.

VP Taylor on ELBC super morning show Thursday said she only has one vote in Bong County and now, she cannot tell whom she will support in the election until return in Country.

Madam Taylor added that she could not vote for people who do not have the country at heart noting that her vote will not be based on political party or individuals but people can build the nation.

 VP Taylor take on the Code of Conduct.

Liberia’s Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor expressed her disappointment over the constant Violation of the code of conduct by Public officials.

Vice President Taylor said it very saddened that public officials chose to closed their eyes on document that was put together by the Legislature and it was agreed upon for everyone to obey but it is now being widely violated.

Madam Taylor stated that during former president Sirleaf term, she was ‘hell in the fire’ for the passage of the code of conduct and seeing that public officials are not obeying is sad.

According to her, trucking of people during this election time is a violation of the code of conduct.

Narrating further, Liberian second powerful woman disclosed that people who allowed themselves to be trucked by politicians to another county cannot hold or put their lawmakers feet on fire because they have their decision in another county.

She maintained that if politicians want to be elected, the should rather campaign and reveal their platform instead of trucking people from one county to another.

VP Taylor expressed that voting should not be forced, intimation or harassment but rather it is the majority will of the people as some officials and local government officials have been threatened to vote for a particular candidate or risk losing their job something she said it bad for democracy.

Rumors about her illness

VP Taylor confirmed that she was tested positive of COVID 19 coupled with Pneumonia and asthma which situation led her to be in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for 35 days.

Narrating further, Madam Taylor prior to her been flown to Accra Ghana, many Liberians were on Facebook posting about her death news but thank the almighty God that she is alive because her mission earth has not been over.

Liberia’s Vice President said even though the enemy wanted to see her down fall but the power of God could not allow such to happen.

 Rape issue

The former Bong County senator disclosed that rape as a whole should be taken seriously especially its  underlying causes.

She maintained that the issue of rape, empowerment and opportunity are everyday issues and just discussing it won’t change anything but the country must do something tangible about it.

“The issue of rape should be the concern of everyone and as such, everyone should bring their ideas on board to solve this pandemic called rape”, she added.

VP Taylor suggested  that people go in various communities including church, community leaders as well as families especially mothers shall stand up for their girl children and create awareness on rape.
