Mutual Assurance official says 90 percent of vehicles in Liberia lack Insurance

The Non-Life Manager of the Mutual Benefits Assurance Company Limited says 90 percent of vehicles operating in Liberia lack insurance policy.

Madam Jackie Smith stated that the insurance of vehicles are critical for the protection of lives and properties in any society and Liberia  cannot be exception.
Manager Smith made the assertion recently when the company was honored as the outstanding Insurance Company in Liberia held in Sinkor.

He noted that more vehicles both private and commercial including Keke as well as motorcycles operating around the country are not insurance for any accident purposed.


He explained that lack of insurance for vehicles is danger for the citizenry and government through the Ministry of Transport and the Liberia National Police should enforced  the vehicle Insurance Policy of the nation.

According to him, the Ministry of Transport and the Liberia National Police are not enforcing the policy as required by law which poses serious threat to the ordinary citizens in accident cases.
He asserted that more people have been victim in accident cases due to lack of insurance for vehicles  operating around the country.

Manager Smith stressed that the enforcement of vehicles insurance policy will go a long way to protect lives and properties in the cases of accident which must not be taking for granted in Liberia.

He narrated that Liberians should be encouraged to insurance their vehicles, noting that it is a safety net for accident Tomorrow.
