Liberia female team begins training ahead of friendly with Guinea

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) has called-up 27 players to prepare for a female friendly international with neighbor Guinea.

According to an LFA release, the match which will take place at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) on 24 November at 4:00PM, is part of preparations for the 2020 Africa women Nations Cup.

The biennial tournament, which is organized by the Confederation of African Football (Caf), will be expanded from eight to 12 teams. 

Earth Angels striker Angeline Kieh, who was named most valuable player at the LFA awards night on 2 November at the Monrovia City Hall, leads a star-studded collection of players.

Kieh, who scored 42 goals last season, missed the start of the preparation on Monday due to illness. 

World Girls goalkeeper Lorpu Forkpa, who was also named best goalkeeper at the awards gala, is in the squad. 

Blanco striker Agatha Nimene, who also scored 39 goals and Senior Professional striker Bernice Willie, who scored 18 goals last season, are all in the squad for training. 

The team will be coached by Famatta Dean while Daei Arab Fofana and Jenkins Doe, who was named best coach in the female division at the awards gala, will serve as assistant coaches. 

Female Lonestar striker on the move

Jerry Bing will serve as goalkeeping coach and Constance Maima Bowman-Permpeh as caretaker.

Princess Gayduo Kennedy is the administrative manager while Lydia Boi Grant and Edith Kerwilliams will serve as medics.
