Bong County Service Center gets low turns; revenues further declined

Bong county service center coordinator Jefferson Gbaryan has attributed the drastic reduction in the collection of revenues at the center due to the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus in Liberia.

 According to the service center coordinator, since the proclamation of the state of emergency and lockdown by president George Manneh Weah, there have been low turnouts of end-users at the revenue generating instiution in the county.

In a brief chat with LPR on Friday  June 5, 2020 in Gbarnga, Mr. Gbaryan noted that lines ministries and agencies at the center area have closed as the result of the poor attendance of service users.

Mr. Jefferson Gbaryan told LPR that the county service center is yet to release monthly reports thereby leaving employees of the area to shut-down their officers.

He at same time called on the government of president George weah to institute mobile Money service at various centers across the country in order to increase the revenue generation in Liberia

Mr. Jefferson Gbaryan said the ministry of transport which has been the major source of revenue at the Bong county service center has declined in its operations something he term as disappointing.

A state of Emergency has been in place in Liberia since early april as aprt of measures to further ease the spread of the coronavirus in the country.

Liberia as so far recorded over 350 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with Montserrado County reporting the highest.
