In a decisive move against the rising drug trade, officers of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Grand Gedeh Detachment arrested three suspects during a dawn raid in C.V.I., Grand Gedeh County.
The operation, executed at 6:00 a.m. on May 2 under a warrant from the Putu Magisterial Court, was led by Deputy Director for Operations Patrick Kamasu, Unit 702, alongside local detachment officers.
Authorities confirmed the arrest of two Liberians and one Nigerian national.
Musu Smith, 38, a Liberian female of the Mano tribe, was found with one kilogram of marijuana valued at approximately USD $100 (LRD 19,000). She also had Tramadol pills worth LRD 92,500 (USD $486).

Victoria Obi, 30, a Nigerian female of the Igbo tribe, was allegedly in possession of a large quantity of Tramadol pills, estimated at LRD 192,500 (USD $1,013).
Investigation and Next Steps
All suspects remain in custody at the LDEA Grand Gedeh Detachment as investigations continue. The seized drugs have been documented and secured as evidence pending court proceedings.

This latest raid underscores the LDEA’s intensified crackdown on narcotics trafficking in Grand Gedeh County. Officials say the operation reflects a broader national effort to dismantle drug networks that threaten community safety and public health.
