Staffers and supporters of Hon. Jerry K. Yogboh Sr. have launched strong criticism against former Chief of Office Staff, Jeremiah Edison Paye, branding him a “hypocrite” and alleging that his resignation months ago was part of a deliberate political maneuver.

The backlash follows remarks reportedly made by Paye in response to a social media post by Byron Byron, where he suggested he would co-sponsor legislation with Byron if both men secure seats in the 56th Legislature after the 2029 general elections.

Paye’s comments have reignited speculation about his political ambitions and cast renewed attention on the circumstances surrounding his departure from Yogboh’s office.

According to Yogboh’s staffers and supporters, Paye had previously insisted that his resignation carried no political undertone. They now argue that his recent statements contradict those claims, exposing what they describe as deceptive and politically motivated behavior.

Several supporters further emphasized Yogboh’s role in Paye’s personal and professional growth, noting that the lawmaker supported him during his studies in Russia and facilitated his return to Liberia. Others accused Paye of fostering strained and controversial relationships with former associates, describing his work style as “toxic.”

They also pointed to the emergence of the “One of Us Movement,” which they believe was created to undermine Yogboh’s influence, calling it an embarrassment to those who once backed Paye’s political activities.

The accusations come amid intensifying political discussions ahead of the 2029 elections, with Yogboh’s supporters insisting that Paye’s latest pronouncements reveal the true motives behind his resignation.

The allegations and opinions expressed are those of staffers and supporters of Rep. Jerry K. Yogboh Sr. and have not been independently verified. Jeremiah Edison Paye has not publicly responded to the claims.
