Commissioner Edward Horton Lahai has commended the Rotary Club of Monrovia for renovating the Barchue Community Public School, describing the project as a significant contribution to improving educational infrastructure and creating a better learning environment for students and teachers.

Speaking during the dedication ceremony for the renovated facility, Commissioner Lahai thanked members of the Rotary Club for investing their time, resources, and expertise in the initiative, which he said will positively impact the quality of education in the community.

“The renovation of this school demonstrates the Rotary Club’s commitment to supporting education and community development,” Lahai said. “A conducive learning environment is essential for both students and teachers, and this project will go a long way in enhancing teaching and learning outcomes.”

Commissioner Lahai called on the Rotary Club of Monrovia to continue supporting development efforts in Congo Town and surrounding communities, noting that several local challenges still require collaborative intervention and sustained partnerships.

He emphasized the importance of cooperation between local government authorities and service organizations in addressing community needs and improving access to essential public services.

Lahai also expressed his willingness to strengthen collaboration with the Rotary Club to ensure that more communities benefit from the organization’s humanitarian and development programs.

“The impact of initiatives such as this extends beyond the classroom,” he said. “They contribute to the overall development of communities and create opportunities for a better future for our young people.”

The commissioner further praised members of the Rotary Club for their dedication to community service and expressed optimism that the partnership would lead to additional improvements in education, infrastructure, and social services across the township.

The renovation and subsequent dedication of the Barchue Community Public School highlight the growing role of public-private and community partnerships in supporting education and improving learning opportunities for children in Liberia.
