Pregnant woman and three children nearly kill by un-rooted tree disaster

Madam Dweh say it was God's divine intervention she and children could be dead

Early Saturday morning July 3,2021 around 2:00 am, a huge tree un-rooted from the Crown Hill slope fall  and destroyed a two bedrooms house where a pregnant woman and her three children narrowly escaped death.

According to the pregnant woman  who is Decontee Dweh, the tree fed on the house while she and her children were at sleep from Crown Hill slope to Slipway Community Airport area.

Madam  Dweh noted that if it was not God’s divine intervention she and children could be dead, adding that everything in the rooms got damaged  completely.

She explained that nothing happened to the children and her, but they are now displaced.

She stressed the need for Representative Moses Acraus Gray and other humanitarian Liberians including local and international organizations should come to their aid.

Madam  Dweh appealed to President George Manneh Weah and his government to assist them to recover as all their belongs were damaged.

she pinpointed that they cannot  afford to rant place now and to be  displaced  in the rainy season is difficult time.

Meanwhile, one of the community elders, Jeremiah Brown said the falling of the huge tree on the two bedrooms house poses serious threats to residents living in the valley area in the Slipway Community.

Elder Brown stated that the Madam  Dweh and her three children have been displaced and the central government and the Representative of Electoral District #8 in Montserrado County should intervened to resettle them.

He lamented that successive  governments have promised to relocate residents in that part of the Slipway Community, but this has not  been realized yet.

He indicated that there is a need for government to build houses to relocate the people from the Airport area in the community,  noting that every rainy season time such disaster do happened.

For his part, the Chairman of Slipway and Crown Hill Community, Engineer Isaac Krah stressed that government should assist the residents to  prevent calamity.

Engineer Krah said a temporary place has been make available for Madam Dweh and her children, but she néeds help to cater for the  children
