The Environmental Manager of the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC) has disclosed that the MCC is working the Environment Protection Agency(EPA) to set up the waste data station.

Manager Sennay Carlor III stated that the waste data station is intended to collect the greenhouse gases emission from waste which will go a long way to provide better understanding relating to climate change across the country.

Manager Carlor made the disclosure Wednesday September 22, 2021 at the launch of the Second State of the Environment Report of Liberia held at  a local hotel in Monrovia.

He noted that the two key documents for environmental planning and management are critical in rolling out preservation and the protection of environment in Liberia.

According to him. MCC which deals with the waste management component of the environment has been challenged over the years for logistical support around the country except for the little in Monrovia.

Manager Carlor asserted  that with these two instruments available, international partners  should consider to help MCC with waste equipment to ensure proper disposal of waste across the country.

He stressed that the protection of the environment is essential for the transformation of the nation, despite the previaling situation of itclimate change, sea erosion, forest degradation among others which are posing serious threat to environment should be given urgent attention.

He explained that Liberia is  committed to fight against climate change and with the assitances from international partners to the relevant agencies of government woring along with EPA to minimize the impact  of climate change in the country

Manager Carlor who represented the City Mayor of Monrovia Jefferson T Koijee expressed thank and appreciation to the management of EPA for the level achievement so far in battling climate change in Liberia.
