LRRRC Boss to make case for Liberia on Climate Change and Migration at Pan African Forum

LRRRC ‘s Executive Director Festus Logan is in Kigali to form part of  7th Pan African Forum on Migration.

The 7th Pan African is currently taking place in the Rwandan capital Kigali and has brought together several African Countries including several others participants.

This year’s forum is under the Theme: Addressing the impact of Climate Change on Human Mobility in Africa. 

  The gathering is aimed at sensitizing participants on migration, Climate Change as a catalyst to key drivers of migration and adverse effects on social economic development and integration of Africa. 

It will also serves as a platform for participants to share experiences and best practices on impact of Climate change, displacement and migration, especially within the context of COVID-19 pandemic and formulate relevant recommendations on early warning preparedness among others.

A dispatched from the forum maintains that stakeholders will address key issues among which is, continental priorities on causes of Climate change and migration advocacy, and inclusion as continental contribution to the upcoming COP 27 meeting in Egypt. 

Knowledge gain from the event will be used to design program and ways that Liberia can properly strengthen its climate change crisis as it remains one key driver to migration of people around the African continent.
