Citizens of Sahn Gbarplay Town in District number 6 in Nimba County are calling on Well-meaning citizens, humanitarian organizations, and the Government of Liberia to come to their aid to complete their school and clinic project.

Sahn Gbarplay is the home of the late Johnny Kpor former Minister of States during the regime of the late President Samuel Kayon Doe located in District number 6 with a little over 2, 500 inhabitants.

Making the plead recently in the Town, the Development Chairman Solomon Kpor said, the current building with three classes cannot host the growing population of school going kids in the town.

Kpor mentioned that the town embarked on a self-help initiative project since seven years ago to construct a clinic and School, but has come to a standstill due to lack of financial support, something he said is causing serious setback to the growth and development of the town.

He elaborated that due to the long distance their children cover to go to the next town Lorplay, most children find it difficult to acquire quality education thus leading them to sometimes drop from schools as the illiteracy rate of the town is so high.

The Development Chairman further lamented that they also find it difficult to report emergency cases to the nearby clinic especially with pregnant women due to bad road and the distance to clinic something that has led to untimely death of people.

Kpor is calling on local, National and international NGOs in the education and health sector to come and help complete their school and clinic project to alleviate the illiteracy rate in the area.
