Police in Bong County have formally charged and forwarded 44-year-old Kerkulah Flomo, widely known by his nickname “Big Boy”, to court for the alleged murder of Harris Kpaikpai, age 48, in Sonoyea District.

According to journalist Exodus Weah, the Liberia National Police (LNP) Bong Detachment reported that the tragic incident occurred on June 10, 2026, around 7:00 p.m. The confrontation allegedly stemmed from a heated dispute between the two men over accusations of a romantic relationship involving a woman.

What began as verbal exchanges reportedly escalated into a violent altercation, resulting in Kpaikpai’s death.

Police investigators disclosed that Flomo was arrested shortly after the incident and charged with murder under Liberian law. The case has now been transferred to the 9th Judicial Circuit Court in Gbarnga, where prosecutors are expected to present evidence and witness testimonies.

Community members in Sonoyea District expressed shock at the killing, noting that both men were well-known in the area. The dispute, they said, highlights the growing concern over interpersonal conflicts turning deadly.
